Within the framework of the «VI International Gas Forum in St. Petersburg» Gazprom Gas-Engine fuel signed a range of agreements aimed at developing the use of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as motor fuel in Russia, Baltics and CIS countries.

Agreements with Estonian JetGaz and Gazprom Transgas Belarus coucerv main principles of creating joint ventures within which it is planned to consider the possibility of implementing projects on production and usage of natural gas as motor fuel, as well as development and operation of natural gas infrastructure ( LNG and CNG stations).

The cooperation agreement with «Cryogas» is directed at a joint development of production and refueling LNG infrastructure in Russia and formation of proposals for authorities to develop and regulate production and refueling LNG infrastructure.

Production and sales of natural gas as motor fuel is a strategic direction for Gazprom. For a systematic work on the development of natural gas fuel, a specialized company was launched – Gazprom Gas-Engine fuel.

Liquefied natural gas (LNG) is natural gas that has been cooled to a liquid state, at about -162 0С. The volume of natural gas in its liquid state is about 600 times smaller than its volume in gaseous state.  LNG is sold to consumers through LNG stations, where transport can be filled with natural gas in liquid state.  The key LNG consumers are the main line haul motor, rail and water transport, quarry and agricultural machinery.

JetGas (Estonia) – a company that specializes on development of production and refueling infrastructure as well as on sales of liquefied natural gas.

Gazprom Transgas Belarus is a subsidiary company of «Gazprom», which supplies gas to consumers in Belorussia and also transports gas.

Cryogas does a set of operations to create facilities for liquefied natural gas (LNG) production and sales, from designing, equipment supply, construction and installation works to commissioning. The company works on solutions to issues related to the use of LNG. Cryogas is a 100% subsidiary company of JSC «Gazprom Bank»
